Eaves Hall is one of my favourite wedding venues to work at. It has so much to offer, both inside and out, and is a fantastic backdrop to any wedding photographs.
Not many venues can ensure a perfect wedding day despite the weather, but Eaves Hall does just that.
I have photographed weddings throughout the year at Eaves Hall, in all kinds of weather: rain, sun, overcast and even snow!
Also throughout long summer weddings where people can still be found outside on the lawn or patio tables enjoying being out in the fresh air well beyond 10pm as the building is lit up, or winter weddings where it goes dark very early, the inside of Eaves Hall comes alive with a warm glow, and guests can enjoy all that Eaves Hall has to offer inside with the snooker table, large bar and reception area, piano lounge and on the benches under the balcony at the front whilst keeping dry from any rainy weather.

Eaves Hall consists of two parts. At the bottom of the long woodland driveway is The Lodge. The Lodge is the perfect place for you and your bridesmaids to spend the night before your wedding with a few chic-flicks, a well stocked fridge and an ample supply of Prosecco.
The Lodge contributes towards a stress-free morning allowing you to relax the night before with a few drinks, knowing that her dress and all her bridesmaids are with her for the next morning, without having to worry about bringing all her stuff from home, forgetting anything, traffic issues etc, also the lodge can provide a great location to get ready with uncluttered rooms, food and drink nearby (I believe Eaves Hall readily stock it up for you!) and plenty of space for everyone to get ready. No rushing about and last minute stress in the morning is definitely a luxury!

From the lodge, walk up the long tree-enclosed driveway and see Eaves Hall appear out of the ground infront of you. Despite having photographed many weddings here, the building still takes my breath away everytime I drive up the driveway towards it.

The ceremony room is fantastic too, with the option to have have lovely natural light filtering in through the side windows and double patio door - which from a photographers perspective doesn't get much better than this! Or overhead chandeliers to illuminate the room. The room can be decorated to your style, and the aisle is wide enough to get down without dress problems! There is also the option for a "fairy-net light curtain" at the back, which can look fantastic as seen here:
After the wedding ceremony, the Eaves Hall staff work hard to quickly transform the room ready for the wedding breakfast. The room is re-dressed with an enormous amount of attention to detail, and soon looks fantastic, ready for the meal.

Following your wedding reception, the whole wedding party exits onto the huge courtyard outside the front of Eaves Hall. Naturally, as a documentary style wedding photographer this is one of my favourite times of the day, when everybody is relaxing after the ceremony, enjoying drinks & canapees, smiling and catching up with friends and family. Again, having Eaves Hall as a backdrop to this looks superb!
Then, for some nice photographs of you together as Bride and Groom, in a relaxed and fun manner, as is my style, Eaves Hall again provides us with ample opportunities! Indoor, outdoor, around the balcony, throughout the gardens, the courtyard to the front - basically everywhere! Please see below for a number of different Bride and Groom photographs taken around Eaves Hall.
Speeches are another favourite part of my wedding photography, I just love to capture the reactions and laughter, emotion and expressions that are shown throughout the various speeches given. Again, Eaves Hall wedding breakfast room is superbly decorated, making a great backdrop for these photographs.
The grounds at Eaves Hall are vast, and are the perfect place for you and your wedding guests to enjoy the day. There is ample space to go for quick walk for a moment away from everyone and enjoy the grounds.
Eaves Hall can put games on the lawn for guests such as Connect 4, Bowls and Giant Jenga - along with the open patio doors to the bar area, this is the perfect summer wedding venue
Golden Hour / Sunset / Evening celebrations at Eaves Hall are also spectacular. The sun sets to the right of Eaves Hall (as you walk out of the front door) which means the lawn and front courtyard are in full sunlight till late, and its not until the sun gets really low that you lose it behind the trees at the end of the lawn. This means that you, and your guests, get to enjoy playing/drinking/talking outside as late as possible, which can also make for some lovely photos from the day.
his is a photographers "golden hour" as we call it, our favourite time of the day to take photographs as the light is nice and low, and often very warm looking, and having a venue like Eaves Hall lets you benefit from every minute of sunlight the day has to throw at you!
You can even have your first dance outside! Alison & James, pictured above, got married on one of the warmest days of 2016 - Eaves Hall were more than happy to accomodate their wishes to have the cake cutting, the band and also first dance outside, as it was still really warm at night!
Closing Shot - I always like to finish off with a "wow" shot, and again, Eaves Hall delivers for us here. Around 9pm the building lights come on, and it looks superb lit up. Using a bit of flash here and there can really give the photo some pop, and I like to end the day (or at least, the photographed part of it!) with a photo like this:
A question I often get asked is "what happens if it rains" - to which I simply reply "it rains!" - Rain doesn't spoil the day, and at Eaves Hall there are several roaring open fires, a warm cosy reception and bar area with grand piano, window seats, and an under-cover patio at the front. If you're prepared to brave it, rain can also make for some lovely photos!
