There's something really special about photographing a wedding in the Lake District. Sam & Mark's wedding at the truly stunning Gilpin Lodge & Lakehouse was no
exception!

Gilpin Lodge Lakehouse Wedding

I know as soon as I met Samantha and Mark that their wedding was going to be fantastic - and I had genuinely looked forward to it all year long. They are the nicest people you could ever meet, and spent their intimate wedding day with their closest friends and family - and by the end of the day I felt like one of them - everyone was so friendly, relaxed and nice.

Gilpin Lodge is a stunning intimate wedding venue in the Lake District, offering views over the lake, extensive and beautiful grounds, a boat that
guests can jump in and go for a lap of the lake, and many hot-tubs and jacuzzi's all around the gardens, which are hot and bubbling away 24/7!

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Lake District By Lake

The weather was on our side, so the wedding ceremony was held outside in the garden pavillion overlooking the lake - it was a fantastic setting for a fantastic
wedding. Even the swans came to watch what
 was going on!

The speeches showed what a fantastic match Samantha and Mark are, and that everyone present wished them the absolute best for the future - there was a lot of tears and a lot of laughter.

Samantha & Mark then jumped into the available rowing boat and went for a quick lap around the lake! This was a photographer's dream come true - and I chased them around the lake with my cameras getting lots of different shots!

Later, after the wedding breakfast Samantha and Mark urged all guests to relax, get into something comfy and enjoy the venues facilities - which many did including outdoor hot tubs and jacuzzi's, a brave and close-match lake-race (despite it looking warm, I can assure you the water was not!) and later, everyone joined in on some games such as Mr and Mrs - before watching sunset fall over the lake outside - a PERFECT day.
